Eight dedicated teachers from various municipalities across Nepal, including Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Chandragiri, and Shankharapur, have recently (October 2024) returned home after participating in an intensive Disaster Education Knowledge Enhancement Training in Japan. This transformative experience has equipped them with crucial insights and skills to bolster disaster preparedness education in Nepal.

Upon their arrival, the teachers delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation at the Experience Sharing Programme, outlining their plans to significantly contribute to the MDRRLC's welfare. Their presentation highlighted innovative strategies and educational tools designed to enhance practical learning experiences for students, focusing on disaster risk reduction and preparedness.

During their training in Japan, the teachers learned ideas what can be localized back in Nepal and upon their arrival developed two interactive educational game prototypes. The first game focuses on the effects of the earthquake's epicenter, providing students with a practical understanding of seismic activities. The second game explores the concept of earthquake faultlines, aiming to educate students about the geological factors that contribute to earthquakes.

These dedicated educators are now eager to facilitate sessions at the Mitra Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Center, where they plan to introduce these engaging educational tools. Their goal is to attract more students to the center, offering hands-on learning experiences that will better prepare them to minimize the impact of disasters both within Nepal and beyond its borders.

Let's start a project.

It will be fun. Let's gather awesome experience.
