A group of Japanese teachers from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) recently visited the Disaster Education Promotion Office (DEPO) to gain insights into the disaster-related activities taking place in Nepal. The DEPO, a leading organization dedicated to promoting disaster preparedness to treduce the risk of disaster, welcomed the Japanese educators and provided them with a comprehensive overview of its programs and initiatives.

During their visit, the teachers were particularly interested in learning how DEPO is working to educate and prepare Nepali children, youth, and visitors for potential disasters. DEPO representatives showcased the various educational materials, training programs, and community outreach activities they have implemented to raise awareness about disaster risk and build resilience. The teachers were impressed by the innovative and engaging approach that DEPO has taken to make disaster preparedness accessible and relevant to people of all ages.

The presentation and materials produced by DEPO were well-received by the Japanese teachers, who expressed their admiration for the organization's commitment to disaster risk reduction. They were particularly interested in learning about the challenges and successes of DEPO's work in Nepal and how these experiences could be applied in their own countries. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and knowledge sharing between Japan and Nepal, and it strengthened the partnership between JICA and DEPO in promoting disaster preparedness and resilience.
