DEPO recently conducted an exciting game testing session with the central office staff of Human Development Community Services (HDCS). This innovative initiative is part of DEPO’s ongoing commitment to enhancing disaster risk reduction (DRR) education through interactive and engaging tools.
The games being tested were originally developed during training sessions provided to teachers in Rukum West. These educational games are designed to make disaster preparedness and risk reduction concepts accessible and engaging for both teachers and students. Before these games are distributed widely, DEPO is conducting thorough testing and collecting valuable feedback to ensure the games are effective, user-friendly, and impactful.
By involving HDCS central office staff in the testing process, DEPO is fostering a collaborative approach to educational innovation. The feedback gathered during these sessions will be instrumental in refining the games, tailoring them to the needs of educators and learners alike. This ensures that when the games reach classrooms, they will be powerful tools for building disaster resilience in communities.
This game testing initiative exemplifies DEPO’s dedication to empowering teachers with practical, engaging resources that enhance disaster education. Ultimately, these efforts aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergencies, contributing to safer and more resilient communities across the region.
Stay tuned for the official launch of these DRR educational games, coming soon to schools in Rukum West and beyond!
