Students from Shree Ganesh School and Aajad School, both located in Changunarayan Municipality, visited the Mitra Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Center (MDRRLC). The visit was part of an ongoing initiative to educate young minds on the history of disasters in Nepal and equip them with practical skills for disaster preparedness.

The students showed a keen interest in understanding the history of various disasters that have impacted Nepal. The educational sessions provided them with valuable insights into the causes, effects, and preventive measures associated with these disasters.

The highlight of the visit was the hands-on training sessions where the students participated in various activities designed to enhance their preparedness for disasters. These activities included practical exercises and simulations, which allowed the students to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a realistic setting.

Inspired by their experience at the MDRRLC, the students expressed their eagerness to establish Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Clubs in their respective schools. They committed to sharing the knowledge and skills they gained during the visit with their peers, thereby fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience within their communities.

In addition to disaster preparedness, the students also engaged in activities aimed at raising environmental awareness. They sang a song dedicated to protecting the environment and expressed their gratitude to the Learning Center for providing them with this invaluable opportunity.

The visit to the Mitra Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Center was a transformative experience for the students of Shree Ganesh School and Aajad School. It not only enhanced their understanding of disaster risk reduction but also ignited a passion for environmental protection. The schools and the Learning Center look forward to continuing their collaboration in promoting a safer, more resilient, and environmentally conscious community.
