DEPO recently met with disaster risk reduction (DRR) experts from ICIMOD to discuss how we can work together to better prepare Nepal’s Terai region for floods.

Every year, floods in the Terai destroy homes, farms, and roads, leaving families struggling to recover. We believe communities shouldn’t have to face this alone. That’s why DEPO and ICIMOD are joining forces to find practical ways to:
✔ Teach flood preparedness through interactive games – Making learning engaging for everyone.
✔ Improve early warning systems – So people get alerts faster and can stay safe.

Our teams will soon visit flood-affected areas to talk with locals, understand their needs, and plan the best way forward.
